The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Webster Groves Public Library was held at 7 pm on Wednesday, November 16th. President Jon Furst presided, and Library Director Tom Cooper kept the minutes. Present: Library Board Trustees Christine Krueger, Stacy Deleste and Gladys Tolley. Absent: Tom Reedy, Charles Maas, June Gill.

Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 by Jon Furst

Public Agenda
There was no public agenda.

Minutes of the October 2005 Meeting
Ms. Tolley moved that the minutes from the October 2005 meeting be approved. Ms. Deleste seconded and the minutes were approved.

Presidentís Report
There was no presidents report.

Librarianís Report
Mr. Cooper presented the next calendar yearís list of holiday closings. He also asked the Board whether they would like to change the date of the December meeting, which would normally fall late in the month, on the 21st. Ms. Tolley moved that the meeting be moved up a week, to the 14th, Ms. Deleste seconded, and the motion passed. Mr. Cooper told the Board that the library would hold a public holiday open house on Wednesday the 21st. He also expressed a need to put up a sign in the west parking lot warning people who are visiting the YMCA not to use the libraryís parking lot.

Advanced Planning
Ms. Krueger reported on the progress of the upcoming Friends Recruitment event. There are at least 60 attendees registered. She urged all Board members to attend. She spoke about the quality of the brochure that had been designed for Friends recruitment, noting that Friends of Libraries USA (FOLUSA) is offering a new award for the best Friends PR material. She mentioned that several local papers had run announcements of the event.

Ms. Krueger spoke about a number of people she had talked to as possible board members.

Ms. Krueger talked about her discussions with representatives from Pioneer Bank, US Bank and Cass Commercial Bank, and with Eileen Meyer, Finance Manager of the City of Webster Groves, in her effort to find a bank that wants to pay for the Wireless Internet connection for the Library.

Mr. Furst and Ms. Krueger talked about upcoming meetings with officials of Webster Groves School District, including Superintendent Brent Underwood and Chief Financial Officer Diane Vaughan to discuss strategy for a tax levy campaign. There are also plans to consult with David Winkler, a faculty member at Webster University who has helped plan tax campaigns for the school district.

Ms. Tolley reviewed the financial report and disbursements for October 2005. Ms. Deleste moved that the financial report be approved as presented, Ms. Krueger seconded, and the motion passed.
